GOLD COAST GAMES

Gold Coast Rugby Carnival

2021 is set to be a big year with the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of The Gold Coast Rugby Carnival.

The goal of the Carnival has always been to attract both the traditional rugby schools and others who may

have only recently discovered the wonders of our great game. Any School or Club team from U12 to U18 is welcome.

Club teams, particularly from areas where there is little or no school rugby, are most welcome to join in the fun.

This is not an elite event; all teams are welcome regardless of their playing ability.  The standard of rugby is always

high as is the quality and competitiveness of matches, the Carnival spirit and philosophy is always paramount.

GOLD COAST RUGBY CARNIVAL

The Gold Coast Rugby Carnival is a youth sporting event held on the Gold Coast each July. Our event is a week long Rugby Carnival focused on Spirit and Sportsmanship.

We have a proud 30 year history with over 40 teams competing at our carnival each year.

There is no overall champion at our Carnival. One deserving group each year is presented with the coveted Spirit Award, decided on a vote by team officials as well as votes by the referees and Worlsport management. There is also a Barbarian Award for one player from each team and which is awarded by the team management.

The objectives of the Carnival are for players and officials to:

  • revel in the spirit of attacking rugby

  • enjoy a guaranteed number of matches without the pressure associated with school association competitions

  • respect the time honoured ideals of amateur level Rugby

  • relish an opportunity to improve playing/coaching standards while enjoying a holiday on Australia’s Gold Coast, one of the world’s premier holiday destinations.

For a great week of Rugby mixed with sun, surf and sand, come and test your team’s skills against national and international teams whilst visiting Australia’s premier theme parks and world class beaches.
